Looking for an opportunity to serve?   TEACHERS NEEDED 2009-10

Our aim at ABC Christian Academy is to bring children to Jesus Christ through an education that is Christian. Educators describe the early childhood years as the 4-14 window. These years, ages 4 to 14, are the years when children are most likely to come to know Christ. In fact, 80% of all people who come to know Jesus Christ as their Savior do so between the ages of 4 to 14. It is our goal that we influence these children, their parents, families, and country toward Jesus Christ.

TEACHERS

All teachers must be professing Christians and approved by the African Bible College or the ABC Academy Parental Advisory Committee.

In an effort to keep tuition at a minimum all expatriate teachers at the ABC Christian Academy will be recruited strictly on a volunteer basis.

The vision of the ABC Christian Academy is to offer high caliber Christian education for the multi-cultural community of Lilongwe, therefore every effort will be made to recruit only certified school teachers.

The ABC Christian Academy is located on five hectares of property adjacent to the African Bible College on the outskirts of the capital city of Lilongwe. Present facilities include seven office blocks, a library/computer lab building, a snack shop, and 25 meter competition swimming pool and dressing rooms. There are also four classroom buildings. The individual classrooms are spacious, well lit, well ventilated and designed to hold a maximum of 20 pupils.

The academy is located adjacent to the existing ABC campus, and therefore has access to the college's sports field and multi-purpose gymnasium.

CURRICULUM & ACCREDITATION

The academy uses an American based curriculum that is standard-driven. ABCCA has chosen course material from a variety of educational companies, including Abeka, Scholastic, Positive Action for Christ, Prentice Hall, Writers Inc., Scott Foresman, Saxon and Houghton Mifflin. By doing this the academy hopes to create a well balanced, international curriculum for each grade level.
