African Bible CollegesThe Chinchen's Are Back In Africa!
left to right: Paul and Laura, Annabelle
with Vanndel; Levi; Bess; Nell and Jack; Jon Jon and Steve and Marion
Spencer with Charlotte, Samuel, Nell, Caleb, Stephen;
The Spencer family is also back from a year of furlough in the United States where they lived in the Mission House of the Kirk of the Hills Church in St. Louis, Mo. We are all missing David, who is now at Covenant College with his cousin, Ashley. He is on a Golf scholarship so we are expecting some exciting things to happen at Covenant this year! Steve and Marion have been greatly missed this past year as he is the Academic Dean of the Bible college in Malawi and Marion is Hostess for all the hundreds of visitors who pass through these gates, as well as Dean of Women. Del and Becky are on their way BACK TO LIBERIA!! Becky will keep up with her organization, Amani au ju, as she travels back and forth to Kenya, but they are committed to getting the African Bible College in Liberia up and running again! Del is working with the teams who are coming over to help get the college rebuilt as well as with Samaritan's Purse. Franklin Graham (who heads up Samaritan's Purse) is also deeply concerned that African Bible College be restored. One of Del and Becky's 4 daughters, Charisa, is teaching at the ABC Christian Academy. Another daughter, Janell (not in the picture) will also be in Liberia working with Samaritan's Purse. SO, HAIL! HAIL! THE GANG'S ALL HERE IN AFRICA! But not quite! Some of the Chinchens are "holding the ropes" in the states. Son, Palmer and his wife Veronica, are in Chandler, AZ. where Palmer is pastoring a fast-growing church which is VERY involved in Africa and African Bible Colleges! The GROVE BIBLE CHURCH sent four teams to Africa last summer, two to Malawi; one to Uganda and one to Liberia...! And not to forget Steve and Lisa Rief, in Portland, Oregon..where Steve is pastoring a Village Missions Church but who pray and undergird the colleges faithfully.... But, as we read in the Gospel of John..."the books would not hold all we have to tell" about the Chinchen Clan....and the African Bible College students and graduates.....but you have prayed and God is working!
Blessings, Nell Chinchen
