We have an exciting year of 2008 ahead of us at ABC Liberia. Thank you for praying with us as it all unfolds. We want to fit into God's plan and be in synch with His timing.
Below is a check list of all that has to happen before ABC is reopened in September 2008.
Restoration Plans:
• Del and Becky Chinchen leave Kenya in January 2008 to live in Liberia.
• Samaritans Purse has appointed a Project Manager to oversee the construction in 2008. Dave and Trudy Petersen arrive in Liberia the last week of January.
• Thirteen buildings are to be restored or will be in the process of restoration before ABC reopens:
1.) Men's Dorm 1
2.) Men's Dorm 2
3.) Women's Dorm
4.) Classroom Building
5.) Dining Hall
6.) Chapel

7.) Faculty House #1
8.) Faculty House #2

• The first Samaritans Purse work team is scheduled to arrive in Liberia in February. Several other SP work teams we hope will follow in the months to come.
•Four churches will send work teams out in June and July to restore four buildings:
1.) The Grove Church from Chandler, AZ - Women's Dorm
2.) Grace Presbyterian Church from Bainbridge, GA - Men's Dorm
3.) Lookout Mountain Pres. Church from Chattanooga, TN - Faculty House #3
4.) Granada Heights Friends Church from La Mirada, CA - Classroom
•Several containers of materials for the restoration of the buildings will be sent to Liberia in 2008. Many of them will be shipped for free thanks to the generosity of Firestone.
Academic Plans:
•The first ABC entrance exam will be given to prospective students in February 2008. We anticipate many applicants since ABC is one of the few quality Christian universities in the country. Nell and Becky Chinchen will administer the exam in Monrovia.
• The Theological Book Network is donating up to 5,000 books for the ABC Library. They will be shipped, categorized and catalogued before going on the shelves.
• Development of the curriculum.
• Ordering and shipping of textbooks.
• Filling Faculty and Staff positions.
•Reopening of ABC in September 2008 with up to 60 students in the first year class!
Thank you for praying with us as we anticipate teaching the treasures of God's truth in Liberia once again. May it lead to the transformation of many students, and the country itself, as ABC graduates fill leadership positions in churches, relief organizations, businesses and even government posts.
