A PRISONER NO LONGER
Charles Masuku was sentenced to 12 years in prison. He did not know
that God would use that imprisonment to bring him true freedom.
Every Thursday afternoon African Bible College students spread out
across the capital city of Malawi with the Good News of Jesus
Christ. The "Prison Ministry" has been one of the prime targets of
that outreach. When Dr. Tom Kay, pastor of the Aliceville
Presbyterian Church, heard about this, he sent dozens of 'wind up"
radios that required no batteries to be distributed to those
prisoners. Dr. Palmer Robertson, an ABC professor at the time,
headed up that prison ministry. As Charles Masuku tells the story,
he said that Dr. Robertson one day gathered the prisoners around him
and clearly showed them the way to salvation in Jesus Christ. After
that, Charles began to listen to *BIBLE COLLEGE BY RADIO. Over the
next three years he completed 47 of the books taught by BIBLE COLLEGE
BY RADIO, receiving certificates for having successfully done all the
correspondence lessons.
*BIBLE COLLEGE BY RADIO, produced by Jack and Nell Chinchen, are Bible teaching programs that have been aired in every English speaking country in Africa over the past 30 years. Free correspondence lessons are sent to interested listeners and certificates are given to those who complete the lessons successfully. Presently, these programs are broadcast over ELWA in Monrovia, Liberia and over African Bible College's three radio stations in Malawi and Uganda. If you would care to participate in this vital avenue for getting the Gospel out across this vast continent of Africa, donations may be sent to African Bible Colleges, P.O. 103; Clinton, MS 39060 and designated for BIBLE COLLEGE BY RADIO.
