Greetings from AFRICA!

BIBLE COLLEGE BY RADIO IS ON THE AIR! If you would like to be a vital part of this exciting new outreach to WEST AFRICA, fill out the information below and RUSH to: African Bible College; Yekepa, Liberia...

This letter rom Liberia was dated: April 7, 1978. Over 30 years later we are excited to tell you that BIBLE COLLEGE BY RADIO is STILL on the air!

As Jack sat on that beach in Baffu Bay UNDER AN INDIAN ALMOND TREE where God gave him the vision for BIBLE COLLEGES for AFRICA, at the same time he felt the need for BIBLE TEACHING OVER THE RADIO. Thus, the inspiration for a Bible teaching program that could be produced IN AFRICA, WITH OUR AFRICAN STUDENTS PARTICIPATING, and especially created FOR THE AFRICAN. These would be daily 30 minute broadcasts, opening up the Bible verse by verse, with free correspondence lessons where the students had to sit down by the radio and LISTEN if they were to complete the lessons correctly. Certificates and prizes of Bibles and even radios would be given to those who successfully completed each book of the Bible.

Nell and Naomi Doles on the air with one of the FIRST Bible College by Radio programs, 1978 It was a great idea. At first Jack planned to do the daily lessons himself, but before he could go on the air over ELWA (the SIM radio station in Monrovia), he heard me on a Woman to Woman program and decided that I should do TWO days a week and he would do THREE! Thus began the almost impossible task of writing scripts, researching Scripture, and broadcasting programs with our students. At first we had to travel by train to Monrovia once a month to record enough programs to last until we could come back and record more lessons! Later, as the Bible College in Yekepa was built and included a recording studio, we could record the lessons and send them to ELWA without having to travel there ourselves.

At first, Bible College by Radio was only on the 49 meter band, but one day ELWA offered us more broadcast time over two more meter bands ... putting these programs on the air 3 times a day. We didn't know if we could do this financially, but God very clearly gave me a verse out of Ecclesiastes 11:6: "In the morning sow your seed, and in the evening withhold not your hand. For you do not know which will prosper, either this or that. Or whether both alike will be good."

In God's amazing PROVIDENCE, we later took another step of faith. We began sending these Bible College by Radio lessons to Swaziland to be broadcast over TRANSWORLD RADIO. Little by little the tapes of these programs were duplicated and sent off to be played in Eastern and Southern Africa. Little did we know at the time that God was preserving those lessons for us. The hours and hours of writing those manuscripts and recording those programs would not be lost.

After the 1980 coup d'tate in Liberia and Samuel K. Doe became president, there were those that wanted to take over the government. When Thomas Quiwonkpa announced over the radio that he was now the new president and that Samuel Doe had been captured, he was not aware that somehow, President Doe had been released from captivity and was back on the throne. Not only did the Coup fail, but Quiwonkpa was mercilessly killed and in retaliation to ELWA for allowing the announcement to be made over the radio, Samuel K. Doe took what was known as the RUSSIAN ORGAN out to Sophie's Ice Cream Parlor and shot off all the rockets until ELWA was completely demolished. Along with most of the radio equipment, our Bible College by Radio tapes were destroyed as well.

BUT THOSE TAPES WERE NOT GONE. THEY HAD ALL SURVIVED THE BLAST OF THAT RUSSIAN ORGAN. Not at ELWA but at the TRANSWORLD RADIO STUDIO IN SWAZILAND!

"The Word of God is powerful and sharper than a two edged sword ... " Bible College by Radio has been played in just about every English speaking country in Africa .. and many other countries as well. Today, it is STILL being aired over the African Bible College's two stations in Malawi - in the capital city of Lilongwe and the city of Mzuzu, as well as in Uganda broadcasting from the African Bible College campus in the capital city of Kampala, and once again over ELWA in Monrovia, Liberia.

Nell reviewing BCR phamplets with the station manager of ELWA—Liberia But, BIBLE COLLEGE BY RADIO is not just for AFRICA. Today, you too, in the United States of America, can hear BIBLE COLLEGE BY WEB over iTunes and the Internet. God's Word endures forever.

Many of you "SPONSORED" one of those first Bible College by Radio programs by giving the $30 it cost to broadcast each 30 minute program. TODAY, you may once again share in not only keeping Bible College by Radio ON THE AIR, but African Bible College's THREE radio stations broadcasting the Gospel 18 hours a day.

Jack calls this the "DOLLAR A DAY WAY":

JUST AS
"AN APPLE KEEPS THE DOCTOR AWAY,"

A DOLLAR A DAY KEEPS RADIO ABC ON THE AIR ALL DAY!
An Apple a Day . . .

A DOLLAR EACH DAY OF THE YEAR COVERS THE COST OF ONE DAY OF BROADCASTS BY ALL THREE AFRICAN BIBLE COLLEGES' RADIO STATIONS!

IF you would like to make an investment in CHRISTIAN RADIO FOR THE WHOLE FAMILY over Radio ABC reaching Africa for Christ, please respond through the links above or below. IF you would like your name mentioned as the sponsor of that day's program, please indicate that on the card. You may even chose the DAY you want to broadcast! If you want to be one of the FIRST 365, you will need to respond right away!

SOWING THE SEED OF THE GOSPEL IN THE MORNING AND IN THE EVENING OVER RADIO ABC,
