The Old Testament book of Isaiah is often referred to as THE BIBLE IN MINIATURE. It is called by that name for good reason.
Isaiah has the same number of chapters as the Bible has books -66. But, the similarity does not stop there. The first 39 chapters of Isaiah, like the first 39 books of the Bible that make up the Old Testament, deal almost entirely with the Jewish nation before the time of Christ. Beside that fact, the last 27 chapters of Isaiah, like the 27 books of the Bible that make up the New Testament, deal with the coming
Redeemer, Redemption and the Redeemed.
Because Isaiah contains all the main truths of the Bible in one book, that means that by the time you finish this study of Isaiah you will understand God's problem with the people He created and His plan for the solution to that problem.
The problem is man's REBELLION against God. Isaiah shows us that when we rebel against God's will for our lives that we will then suffer RETRIBUTION (punishment). He shows us that God does this in order to get us to REPENT (turn our backs on sin), and then Isaiah shares with us God's Good News that if we will repent He will RESTORE US!
It may surprise you to find that you will be reading about the Messiah, Jesus Christ, in the book of Isaiah, but this prophet of God, 600 years before the birth of Jesus, tells of His coming and His death for our sins so that mankind might be restored. Very wonderfully, the book of Isaiah will show you God's plan for your salvation!
